Abstract

Eclampsia generally refers to the occurrence of a tonic-clonic seizure or stuporous mental state, with no other apparent cause in the pregnancy. It is classified as antepartum eclampsia, intrapartum eclampsia, and postpartum eclampsia, depending on the onset of the seizures. Eclampsia occurring between 48 hours and 4 weeks after labor is defined as late postpartum eclampsia. Recently, we experienced two cases of eclampsia after 48 hours of labor without definite preeclampsia. We report this cases with a review of the literature.
